My first post..

Well, something I had been wondering for a long time now is about Indian Television, I mean, what is happening to it? I am a student doing my final year in BBA and don't really get to watch a lot of television because I don't stay at home anymore. I'm home now for my vacations and well I'm just surprised at the difference in quality matter of all television shows. We have our Star Plus, Sony Zee and even Star One dishing out a load of crap every single day! So does the Indian audience actually watch all these daily? Thats almost unimaginable to me. Suddenly our channels are sprouting with new shows, new actors but the very same story lines. Everything is so repetitive and absolutely frustrating, that health wise, I think these shows should be considered highly dangerous! The only solace I find are in channels like Travel & Living, Discovery and the English Channels. The music channels too now seemed to have started their own line of reality shows which are fun up to a certain extent but then are as good as the soaps with all the politics and back-biting and bitching. The news channels of course provide more entertainment to me than news whereby the same news is twisted and turned and squeezed till it turns sour. With the absolutely over-dramatic tone of talking and over emphatic way of expression I am truly aghast as to what they are really trying to achieve. This phase of Indian Television needs to pass soon (and I say phase as I really really hope it is one). We need some good quality shows with logic and sense and we need it soon. Do post your views.
